This zeppelin gunship is meant to aid ground troops during assaults into enemy territories. It carries 12 mortar cannons on it's sides, and a massive howitzer cannon in the front. The ship's bottom has iron plate reinforcements for added protection from ground fire.

The idea behind this little blue devil is that he is a lower class of demon. As he grows into a higher class demon, his skin color will change to a purplish hue, until he becomes the highest class, turning bright red in color. His body mass and horns will grow as he develops his demonic skills.

Bathory

This is a character design of the Countess of Bathory, one of the more twisted women in history. She is supposed to have killed about 600 women, back in the 17th century. I tried keeping her costume as close to that time period as possible, with a little artistic license.

Automated Grape Harvester

There are actually two types of robots involved in the grape harvesting. One picks the grapes from the vines, while the other recieves and delivers the grapes to a refinery. The robots operate independantly, and navigate with GPS and built in cameras. The picker rotates on it's axis once every 15 seconds, so it's constantly grabbing fruit from the vines. The reciever leaves for the refinery once it's internal weight machine calculates that the bin is full.

This scene is a sort of video game environment. This would be the point of the game where the hero is about to go through the gates of Hell to battle Satan. Before he enters, the gates close, and the hero has to battle a couple of giant skeletons that reanimate from their chained state. As soon as he or she defeats the skeletons, the gates open and he enters another level.

My take on a Gangster and his Moll:

I wanted the characters to have a sophisticated Bonnie and Clyde look to them. Bruno's boxing career was over after an injury to his famous right hand,so he had to make his money elsewere. The Hungarian ex-Boxer soon took over England's underworld, taking control of all the major illegal operations like betting, drugs, and arms dealing. He soon found his soul mate, in the form of Madame Lexie, head of a major prostitution ring in London. Together, they formed a strong alliance that would create an Underground Empire. He was the "muscle", she was the "brains". They ruthlessly took out the local competition, giving them full control of the streets.

Green Slime

This creature's life began when it lodged itself in a dumped toxic waste barrel. Soon enough, the toxic sludge transformed this octopus into a mega-mutant of the sea. He uses the waste barrel much like a hermit crab, for shelter, while his extremely long tentacles wander around, looking for prey to snatch up. He has developed these two pod-like feeding tentacles that help digest meat before it goes into the creature's stomach. When attacked, this creature releases a radioactive green slime, that is toxic enough to kill anything within a few hundred yards of the slime. It lives in solitude within the various sea caves of the ocean.

So I was going for a jazzy-like character, along the lines of what an alien version of Miles Davis might look like. I included a groupie on the side to make the piece more interesting. I definitely had fun working on this piece. I went straight into painting this time, no underdrawing at all, just a sketch on the side to help figure out the character's form. I think that helped bring more flow to the piece, because I was not restricted by a certain guideline. I am forcing myself to work faster, and use more textures in my work. Hope you like.

This week's theme was Navigator. You had to create a male/ female counterparts for an RPG game. You also had to include two accesories, mine were a Halographic Map Projector, and a Telescope Gun.I am somewhat satisfied at how the image turned out, but I would have liked to spend a bit more time on the characters. Oh well, I'll just take what I have learned and move on.

Recently, I've been playing around with Corel Painter, which is an awesome program for coloring. At first I was skeptical about the look of digital painting, but this program is the real deal. There's an oil paint feature that looks exactly like oil paint, but cuts down the drying time to nothing. My Wacom tablet is my new best friend.
